Generations of Faith: Sermon’s In January 2010
Nearly seven years ago when I came to meet the board of Canadian Hills Church,
I asked them what vision they had for the next 5 to 10 years.
The oldest person in the room said, “we see the place filled with
teenagers, children, and young families.”
Remembering that conversation reminds me of the prophesy,
Old Men and old women shall again sit in the streets….each
with staff in hand because of their great age and the streets of the city shall
be full of boys and girls playing. (Zechariah 8:4-6.)
With the births of several babies, and with the addition of several young families,
God is bringing our vision to reality. In just one example,
last month, we saw children singing and acting while carrying beautiful
portraits, painted by one of our seniors. As we begin 2010 we
are moving toward the dedication of our New Children’s Center.
I invite you to join us on Sunday mornings in January when we will hear from the
